Sponsored Activities

In addition to our core investment program – The Greenhouse Fund – which provides funding for emerging companies and academic projects involving novel therapeutics, devices and diagnostics, BioAdvance also sponsors initiatives that are integral in our region’s continued leadership position in life sciences.

One such project is the Greater Philadelphia Life Sciences Guide (GPLSG), which BioAdvance initiated in order to develop an online, updatable listing of all life sciences and related support organizations neighboring and located in the Greater Philadelphia area.  The GPLSG was successfully launched at BIO in May 2007 with project  co-sponsors Select Greater Philadelphia (SGP) and University City Keystone Innovation Zone (UCKIZ). BioAdvance is now working with SGP and UCKIZ on the second phase which will include academic research facilities.  Visit www.look4science.com to register your organization or to learn more.

Another program that BioAdvance initiated is the Greater Philadelphia Bioinformatics Alliance. The Greater Philadelphia Bioinformatics Alliance is a consortium of regional research and academic organizations dedicated to advancing the field of biomedical informatics—the integration of medicine, biology and advanced computational sciences that is revolutionizing life science research and holds the promise for significantly improved healthcare.
